Ben Jones is an award-winning broadcaster having spent the last 13 years on national radio. Across his many primetime shows for both commercial and BBC radio, Ben has become one of the most instantly recognisable voices in the UK. His versatility as a broadcaster is his strength, having honed his talent on both music and speech based stations.
Today Ben is a presenter for the newly launched Virgin Radio, Saturdays 1-4pm.
Prior to this Ben spent 10 years at 1 Golden Square, achieving great success both in terms of audience reach and commercially for Virgin Radio, then spent 3 years under the re-branded Absolute Radio. Since his departure, Ben has been heard presenting programming for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 2, Smooth, Capital Radio and most recently on the Heart Network.
Alongside his role as a broadcaster, Ben has created, pitched, and delivered some exciting original programming for national stations such as BBC Radio 2, including the Brian Johnson show, presented by the AC/DC front man. Away from traditional broadcasting, Ben spent much of the last 2 years offering creative solutions to brands and agencies; working for clients such as Reebok, Sony, Park Resorts, the Isle of Wight Festival and Strongbow to deliver engaging content to help add further reach to exciting and dynamic campaigns.
It is a diverse career thus far, but all of which ensures a varied and deep understanding of audiences, brands and engagement.
Most of Ben’s spare time is spent with his wife and two sons, which he wouldn’t have any other way. However, when he isn’t with his family, producing, presenting or broadcasting, you can find him watching Homeland or reading an intense crime thriller!
