Twice Sony Award winning Sam has been a presenter on BBC 5 Live for more than three years now, with a weekly Sunday Breakfast programme and regular shifts deputising on every daytime programme on the network, both on her own and as a co-host.
A Cambridge graduate, she trained as a journalist and freelanced across a number of newspaper and magazine titles, before getting the radio bug, although she has often written columns for publications alongside her radio work.
For the BBC, she spent many years at BBC Radio Manchester, presenting a variety of shows across the station, including the Saturday morning news discussion programme and BBC Introducing, which champions new music, a passion which had started a decade before when Sam produced and presented a new music show which was broadcast to 800 US college radio stations.
She has also presented extensively across commercial music radio, including Xfm, Key 103 (where her daily afternoon show enjoyed record ratings) and she anchored breakfast on Real Radio Northwest (now Heart) to name but a few.
Sam’s experience in TV includes reporting for BBC Inside Out and for the BBC at Manchester International Festival. There’s more to come here.
Sam is mum to two little girls and passionate about good (vegetarian!) food, good wine, travel, film and tv.
