Janice Long is to become a permanent part of BBC Radio Wales’ evening schedule after joining the station for the summer.
She’s been presenting a Summer Nights programme Mondays to Thursdays and after receiving such an amazing response Janice has agreed to continue, to feature live sessions from big names and provide a platform for Welsh artists.
Janice is to host a brand new weeknight programme on BBC Radio Wales.
Janice will present her show live from BBC Wales’ studio in Wrexham between 7pm – 10pm, Monday to Thursday. Produced in-house, the slot will launch on 22 May, and will feature live sessions and provide a platform for Welsh artists.
Janice said: “I can’t wait to get started on BBC Radio Wales. The Welsh music scene has always been strong. I’m really looking forward to supporting and showcasing more artists on this new show.”
Ahead of joining BBC Radio Wales in May, Janice will be sitting in for Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 from 10 – 13 April between 8pm and 10pm. She will also be presenting 2 weeks of breakfast on BBC Radio Merseyside this August as part of their 50th birthday celebrations.
Janice hosts passion project Life at LIPA for Radio 4, produced by Sparklab Productions. In a new 3 part series starting on the 29th November Janice follows students in their final year at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Students tell their own stories and the series raises the curtain for the first time on LIPA.
